Question about Fractal Lumen Placement

Go to solution Solved by BobVonBob,

Just place it anywhere it fits. The only orientation that has the potential to pull air bubbles into an in-rad pump is mounting it on the top of the case, and that's a very common installation method, so the designers would have taken steps to prevent damage in that orientation.

Hey y’all,

I’m starting my first build after a long time, and I was planning on putting Fractal Design’s Lumen AIO in the build. The issue is: I don’t know where I should place the rad in terms of getting the longest life out of the pump, which happens to be in the rad. (This, I think, tosses out the tips from GN and Jayz on AIO placement)

If anyone has experience with using AIOs where the pump is in the radiator, please let me know what your ideal placement is.

Okay, that makes sense, since a top mount would have it close to the top of the loop sort of. You’re probably right that Fractal designed the AIO to not implode from being mounted at the top. I don’t know what they could have done, but they may have because they have pictures of it top mounted on their website.

Either way, I’ll for sure fit it on the front to play it safe.
