bang for your buck, and which one would get you more fps with shaders

Well bang for buck depends on the price u can get them for. So give us the prices u can get them in ur area and we can say which is worth getting.

When looking for performance comparisons u can look at a 6600Xt vs a 1080ti, and add about 5% on top of the 1080ti scores. In general this puts the 2080S handily above the 6600XT with  the only exceptions being games that are known to heavily favor AMD. In addition, since its a RTX card, ull be able to use DLSS ,DLDSR, and RTX.

$1099 for a 2080S ?! ..forget it lol. What a rippoff.

Even that 6600XT is ....painfull at that price ..thats almost 2x its MSRP.

I'd say neither ..if thats at all an option.

I'd try the used market, keep an eye out for a reasonable deal.

You might want to keep a look out for a 980ti for around $200-$250, they seem to sit in a little zone of their own, not being hugely scalped whilst still performing reasonably well sitting between the 6500XT and a RTX 2060.

Basically they're the only card i know of that is priced close to the MSRP of a equal performance modern 'new' card**, with the modern equivalents being overpriced.

ofc they are 'used', and 'old'.

** it wont stay this way, as more people know about them, their price will increase.

So choice is, see ur favorite proctologist and prepare to pay for a 'new' card, dont buy anything and make do, or dont give the retailers or the manufactures 'a dime' and get a used old gen card.

Thats legit my advice, i wouldnt buy a 'new' GPU atm, ur getting ripped off and contributing to a fk'ed market.
