College laptop suggestions/recommendations

Hi

So im helping a friend with deciding what laptop to get for college.

Im pretty well known with desktop hardware but when it comes to the mobile realm i have no clue. And honestly not intrested in it.

This laptop is just for some presentations, web browsing, ... the usual.

Their price range sits around a max of 500$.

She sent me this: https://www.amazon.com.mx/HP-Pulgadas-R5-5500U-micrófono-integrada/dp/B09KNSMR14/ref=mp_s_a_1_4?crid=2210OS3DLCKGN&keywords=laptop&qid=1644260910&sprefix=laptop%2Caps%2C149&sr=8-4&ufe=app_do%3Aamzn1.fos.a7e2cb0a-2621-45d7-91b0-cec7831d0f99#

Its a HP with ryzen 5 5500U with 8gb of 3200Mhz ddr4 and a 256Gb m.2

It has a 41Wh battery. It also seems to be the amazon bestseller laptop.

She previously sent me a somewhat cheaper  laptop with a dual core intel celeron but i think she'd be alot better of with the ryzen models.

All sugestions or any input about this laptop or other suggestions are welcome.

Looks decent overall. Are you sure about 15.6"? It won't be as mobile as a 13" or 14" but it's great for multimedia content. It also depends on what inventory you have access to so maybe list some options (or marketplaces to choose from) and we can help

If you found my answer to your post helpful, be sure to react or mark it as solution 😄

This is a pure low-End entry level Laptop. But one with decent Performance.

It won't get much better at that price tbh.

You might look at other Shops for an Dell Inspiron 5000 series (with same Ryzen 5 5500u), or Lenovo Ideapad 5 (also, R5 5500u) or maybe Thinkpad E15 G3.
