I recently bought and installed a new motherboard to my pc and I've been having this problem. On max screen resolution, my desktop still wont fit the entire monitor. I went to update my graphics cards with Geforce experience auto updater and on the express installation of the newest driver, it got stuck on "uninstalling 3D vision drivers". I repeated this several times before trying to delete the "3D vision" by uninstalling the program. But the uninstall loading bar never moved. Nvidia control panel wont work for some reason and using the driver disc that came with the graphics card doesn't do anything. The only buttons that work on the Geforce menu are "express installation" and "custom installation". Whenever i use the custom installation it always says "an error occurred" and it closes itself. I could really use some help.

Thx

I'm having other problems too. The Sound is messed up and i cant hear it.

Its an old windows install.

Specs:

Graphics Card: Geforce GTX 650
Monitor: AOC 27" LED IPS Widescreen Borderless Ultra slim Widescreen Monitor (I Think)
Motherboard: MSI 970A-G43 AM3+ AMD 970 + SB950 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX AMD Motherboard

First: if you can. go to the nvidia website, and the website for your sound chipset manufacturer and grab the drivers from their websites.

You can also try NVidia's own tool;

https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/550192/geforce-drivers/display-driver-uninstaller-ddu-v12-6-4-released-04-11-14-/

Shut your system down. Pop it open and ensure that the video card is seated properly. Look for any discoloration on the on the motherboard, it will look almost like a 'stain'. Look for any domed capacitors. They should all have flat tops. If you don't see any domed caps, and no staining on your motherboard and the video card is seated correctly, close the case. start spamming del or f2 to get into you bios or uefi. look through it to make sure your video card is showing up, your sound device should have a listing in there too.

If you installed a motherboard you probably have some familiarity with this but don't do it to humor anyone here, you probably already know you want to double check these things.

Start it up again, and start spamming F8 as soon as the system powers on.

 On the OS Selection menu, choose safemode with NO networking.

Go into control panel and remove the nvidia content from add/remove programs.

If it worked go into device manager  (fast way; hit windows key + pause/break key, then click device manager).  Once inside go to your video card under 'Display Adapters. Right click it and choose uninstall.

If you have your sound drivers to install with go ahead and rid of the currently installed once the same way.

Don't install anything at this step. If you're this far, restart and wait for windows to boot up normally.  Attempt to re-install your drivers now. Your chances of a problem are lower when there's nothing in the way anymore
