Intel ARC GPU prices REVEALED! Sort of...

RemyTheRuler

I was going through Intel's PC challenge discord and the rewards for the challenge are their ARC GPUs along with merch and Xbox game pass. With those are listed their ARV (approximate retail value). So if we subtract the mech and membership, we know that the "premium" arc GPU will be $800 USD (900 ARV - 6 months Xbox game pass ($40) - arc merch (~$60)) and the "performance" arc GPU will be $620 (700 ARV - 3 months Xbox game pass ($30) - arc merch (~$60))

This can all be found in #xe-hpg-scavenger-hunt in the discord below

Note: This was posted on November 9th, 2021, the prices may have changed.

The ARV for contests and sweepstakes isn't always accurate, and I hope that's the case here. If Intel comes out at these prices, I think they're going to flop hard. Though, maybe demand is so pent up that people will end up gladly paying whatever for a card they can actually get. Only time will tell, of course, but I was definitely expecting more competitive pricing than this, especially for a new entrant in the market.

I think the pricing is actual okay compared to other gpus because those two will be their most expensive compared to the >$1000 premium gpus from nvidia

The Arc GPUs aren't playing on the same level, though. Although it basically doesn't exist at that price, remember that the 3080 is supposed to be a $700 graphics card. It goes for much more now, but there's no guarantee the Arc cards won't balloon in price from where they start either, and even the best of Arc is maybe nipping at the heels of a 3070.
