Hello Everyone,

Hope you all are doing great,

I have a HP OMEN Obelisk Desktop PC - 875-0075na. https://support.hp.com/gb-en/document/c06529778

I don't have a vast knowledge of hardware and software but I do have a decent amount of knowledge.

I love the build as I don't play very graphics demanding game, all I play is Dauntless and Dota sometimes.

I have noticed that my CPU temperature goes to around 80°C and my GPU'S temperature goes to around 83°and then I start noticing a FPS drop in dauntless and dota too.

The problem is that there is only 1 fan on the casing, one stock fan for CPU and stock fan for GPU. So obviously, thermal throttling is sucking out all the FPS.

The build comes with a 500W Bronze PSU. If I want to install 2 fans with the casing and a CPU Cooler (Air Cooler), will I require a more powerful PSU? as the GPU takes around 160W. (I have an option to buy Corsair RM750 PSU)

Some help will be really appreciated, thank you in advance.

Kindest Regards

As far as I know you should be fine with a few extra fans.

You shouldn't need a new PSU. Just get a new cpu cooler, and another case fan or 2. See if you can mount 1 or 2 at the front (intake) or top (exhaust) of the case though first.

Those temps are fine. CPU is maybe bit toasty, but considering limited airflow and stock cooling, its still normal temps. Have you noticed actual core clocks lowering during the times you get fps drops? That is what happens if something thermal throttles.

Hello Sir,

I noticed the cores were 4266 MHz before starting the game.

In game they all went to 4042 MHz, all the cores.

You could probably get that bit better by just re-doing thermal paste.
