Hello. I'm currently looking for a decent headset for gaming/music. Stumbling upon Arctis lineup made be super confused. There are Arctis 1, 5, 7, 7+, 7X, Pro etc etc...  I've tried friend's Arctis 7 wireless and honestly I'm not impressed. For 150 euro headset they sound terrible. With all the buzz words like DTS, High ress audio being thrown around, I was expecting some super crisp audio. What I got was dull, very quite audio with limited sound range.

So is it the headset, or is there some software magic that I have to perform to get more sound out of them? And whats the difference between 7 Wireless, 9 Wireless and Pro Wireless?

Originally I was considering getting Arctis Pro  with DAC, but now I have my doubts after trying Arctis 7.

Since we're here, can you recommend good headset in 300 euro range? I'm mainly looking for audio performance. Mic quality, wired or wireless I don't care.

Main system: Ryzen 7 7800X3D / Asus TUF Gaming B650-Plus / G.Skill Trident Z5 NEO 32GB 6000Mhz / Zotac RTX 5090 SOLID OC/ x2 WD_BLACK NS770 2TBs/ Corsair HX1000i/ NZXT H5 Flow

I would recommend  getting Beyer Dynamic, DT-770, 880 or 990's - if you don't have a amp, get 80/32 ohm version and a ModMic, best setup ever.. Last forever and can be repaired fully. All spare parts including different ear cups, drivers, new leather, screws you name it.

For that budget i'd probably swing towards the Beyerdynamic DT 990 Edition 32Ohm and combine it with a modmic. You won't need an AMP to get good audio from that, it's extremely comfortable and the mic is decent.

Or the Beyerdynamic MMX300 if you really want an all-in-one solution.

And like @DoctorNick mentioned you can buy spare parts way past after it stops selling in the future. Beyer even offers in-house repairs.

If someone did not use reason to reach their conclusion in the first place, you cannot use reason to convince them otherwise.
