Ram issue

So I have a bit of an issue, back in October of 2021 I went through upgrades of my pc, I purchased some corsair Vengeance rgb pro ram of 3200 mhz (2x16) that were supposedly rated at c16, I only realized now because I purchased another 2x8 gb  of 3200 c16 to go with the ram I have. the supposed 32 gb set was actually c18 even though the box says c16, im not sure where to go from here as seeing it wasn't the ram I purchased but its also been at least 3 months since the purchase from Amazon. I had to take out the 2x8 gb of ram because my computer was running into big issues and I couldn't realize why until I took all the ram out and closely inspected the 32 gb set of ram

what model are these?

Alright, Ill look around and see if I still have the purchase order on amazon and contact them, I was worried I did something wrong at first but it looks like the wrong ram was packaged, thank you for the advice!

These are 3200 CL16. I assume what happened is that when you add new sticks it worsens to CL18, but removing them reverts the settings to CL16?

well when I add the new ram it does change to cl18 and the speed of the ram won't go over 2933 without either not booting from POST or just random blue screens of death

that's because the new kit's 3200 CL16 XMP profile is slightly different than the older kit's 3200 CL16, so the BIOS took those it has common numbers on, i.e. CL18.

They are each rated to run on their own, not combined. You need better sticks to run the same settings on larger capacities and especially, more modules.

They are each rated to run on their own, not combined. You need better sticks to run the same settings on larger capacities and especially, more modules.

oh okay, Maybe ill try to return the 16 gig kit and just buy some corsair dummy ram so I won't get anymore issues, I think I won't use even close to the 32 gigs I have now anyway
