New PC Build - powers down under load.

Go to solution Solved by Caseter6,

Managed to resolve it now. It was a combination of power management settings in W10 being allowed to disable USBs, and the fact I had to change PCIE from AUTO to gen 3 in my BIOS to fix all my issues.

So I’ve recently upgraded my CPU, MOBO and PSU on my computer, whilst doing so I also changed to a new case. My final specs are https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/user/Caseter6/saved/#view=y2Lkf7

I built this about a week ago and it all seemed fine, I’d had it running several hours most days and no sign of issues across various uses and games.

As of yesterday though, the computer will randomly completely power itself down with no warning. When ever it does so, the power button won’t work and I have to turn off the PSU switch and put it back on for it to boot.

I’ve tried various fixes with no solution in site.

I’ve turned off CPU boost and XMP in the BIOS, I’ve tried clearing the CMOS in-case anything was still applied.

Initially I suspected something CPU related and I checked my cooler as iCUE was showing 0RPM on my cpu fans.

I realised I’d plugged my radiator fans into sys_fan and not to the cpu-fan slot, so I fixed that.

However, despite the fact it is now showing in iCUE the system still turns off.

If the system is under medium load on something like Minecraft it takes a while to randomly turn off, but I can consistently get it to turn off if I run a modded session of a game like ArmA as it’s more demanding.

I would appreciate any suggestions on how to resolve this issue.

typically this is a psu issue.

what psu do you have, and whats the rest of the specs, especially cpu gpu ram mobo
