im having dynabook satellite pro C50-E-109 lap and im missing these keys (and posibly some others also):

- printscreen (it is marked on keyboard but does windows screencap combination instead and is different on every fn/function bios remap, currently a combination of : [super/windows] + [shift] + [ s ])

- sysRq (key i want to have)

- scroll lock

question is : i use linux. oftenly i get freezes (not because of bugs, i just tend to open a huge amount of apps at a time). freeze doesnt react to any keys (even to [ctrl] + [alt] + [function] tty ).

i heard about sysrq kernel commands ( [alt] + [sysrq] + [ r ] ). just that i have neither sysrq or printscreen (heard sometimes it was working this way) keys. is it a very special move from manufacturer to buy new pc even if isnt 2 years and is yet on papers or sysrq can be mapped to be used in such situations?

note - there is no many info about this lap online (googled and ducked).

thanks

oh, and here we go with all my lap info fyi : https://termbin.com/4e50 😉

keyboard photo as requested (sorry for bad quality but i was doing it with my 10y old phone ;-; :

Do you mean you are missing the keys physically? AS in, they are no on the keyboard?

You might try plugging in an external keyboard that has those keys available. I'm sure you could soft-reprogram them in Linux, but I'm not an expert on that

im not owning any external keyboards except of network one named " my phone" due to money. and if its possible to reprogram - could you maybe google it? i can recode kernel, recently im even a little forced to learn C, so i think it'd be good for me :'D ...

Se if this helps with remapping keys

https://ictsolved.github.io/remap-key-in-linux/

its normal remap. software one. same as i use for printscreen. this remap i'll need to do is to recode kernel. shortcuts of [sysrq] key are kernel commands which are managing motherboard, not software... so things like these wont help... more tutorials from Torvalds...

Then either buy an external keyboard with the hardware keys you need, or be prepared to do a lot of re-programming, and I can't help with that as that is over my head sadly.

I doubt LTT is going to have the programmers needed to remap those keys, you *might* try the programmer's forum over at ArsTechnica...those guys know their stuff

means - i didnt just tried to use this site as support not video request? erm... and i think here are also more hardware-related things like this one... ArsTechnica is programmer-only (i dont say im not, but for dev-related things im using topanswers tho...)

AT is another forum like this one, just on a different level, they have plenty of sub-forums like LTT does, but have a different, wider level of knowledge than you'll find here.

It's unlikely SysRq would work in that case.
