Hi, I have been out of the game for a bit.

My rig has been dornment for a couple of years. Just upgraded it with a new GPU.

So far so good, but it seems my old Aquaero 5LT is somewhat busted. It connects and powers up, but has several issues. Firstly it causes random BSODS when in Windows. Sometimes it also makes the system not post at all. Secondly it wont control the fans through Aquasuite anymore; everything just runs at 100% (12v).

My rig has the following components:

Top fans: 4 x Noiseblocker BlackSilent Pro PL-2 (3 pin DC) (exhaust) (480x60mm radiator)

Bot fans: 4 x Noiseblocker BlackSilent Pro PL-2 (3 pin DC) (intake) (480x60mm radiator)

Front fans: 2 x Corsair SP120 (4 pin PWM) (intake) (no radiator)

Pump: EK D5 CSQ (4 pin PWM)

Temperature sensor for water connected directly into one of the radiators.

I have been using my Aquaero 5LT to set fan profiles based on water temperature. This has worked very well.

At low temps radiator fans are completely off. When water reaches around 40C they will turn on and gradually increase.

Due to massive radiator capacity the fans rarely turn on at all.

The pump runs at 60% at all times because this is the most silent and vibration free setting which also provides decent flow.

The front fans always spin at the lowest possible RPM to keep positive air pressure in the case (for dust).

TLDR: I need a new fan controller that can control 3 pin DC fans based on a temperature sensor. Is Aquaero still the best for this purpose? Would the Aquarero 6LT be the most sensible replacement for my setup?

Is it unproblematic to run 3 pin DC fans these days? With my Aquaero 5LT I had to install a heatsink on the voltage regulator to avoid overheating. My current fans are decent for what I need. It will be alot of work to swap them, so I want to avoid that if possible.

Is there any way to achieve my goal through software? For example SpeedFan?

My fans are now connected to my motherboard (Asus X99-A), which also has a temperature sensor. But I have found no way to completely turn off the fans at certain temperatures from what I can see.

Many thanks for all input.

tbh 3pin static pressure fans are rare nowadays outside of industrial applications

best for your scenario is to get Aquaero 6LT or buy pwm fans with Octo

Thanks for the advice. It seem that Aquero is still GOAT. I'll most likely get an Aquaero 6LT which will work with my current fans. During my next loop maintenance I can upgrade to PWM fans and it will work with that too.

pwm is a reduction like 50% or more in power..

but Aquero did get hot and tried selling you a heat sink for it or a water block...

you can buy 3pin to pwm adapters too, but probably just get an Aquaero 6.

I have dyslexia plz be kind to me. dont like my post dont read it or respond thx

also i edit post alot because you no why...
