Computer Tower In Another Room Setup

Hello everyone,

 

I've been considering a new setup where my computer tower is in the adjacent room to my office in my house like Linus.  The adjacent room is our mechanical "unfinished" room which mostly has the central air heater in it along with some storage.  After some googling it looks like a Thunderbolt PCIe card is the place to start but I don't know for sure.  I'm just looking for some help on where to start and what I would need so I can get a budget number.  Thanks.
