2070 vs 3060

I assume there is some cash involved as well? Or is it a straight swap? A straight swap might be worth it just to get a newer GPU with more VRAM. Whether it’s worth spending money - if I were you I’d sell your 2070 and save a bit more to get a 3060 Ti or even a 3070.

Yea straight trade new in box. I’ve been trying to sell my 2070 but the cheapest 3060 ti I’ve seen is 1300. Christmas just passed and I have 5 kids so money is tight, also would be out a gpu till I could afford one if I sold it

In terms of performance, the 3060 is almost always better than the 2070. There are a fair few situations where the difference is negligible. And there are some rare situations where the larger memory bus width of the 2070 allows it to do a bit better than the 3060, but it's not common. You can check some benchmarks for the games you play to make sure you aren't downgrading there.

 

I would guess the reason this trade is a thing is because a miner wants to get their hands on your 2070, as the mining performance of the 2070 is better than the 3060, while the gaming performance of the 3060 is better than the 2070. So if you aren't mining on your graphics card, then this trade would make sense for both of you.

I’m guessing that maybe. I would be using it to game paired with a r5 3600
