Is it dangerous to leave CPU voltage at auto?

Hello, thanks for reading! I have a 10900K with a Z490 MSI Tomahawk, all I have done in BIOS is selected Game Boost, which offsets the turbo by +1, resulting in all core at 5GHz

I have left voltage at auto, according to HWInfo max VCore did reach 1.40V, but only for a few seconds. At idle its around 1v.

I understand that auto mode do often 'overvolt' the CPU but I don't want to do a manual 'overclock'.

So, is leaving voltage at auto dangerous, surely the motherboard manufacturers wouldn't allow auto mode to go over the safe limits?
