Mag274qrf-qd Backlight bleed lottery

PaterMajkel

Hi, after recomendations from hardware unboxed, I've decided to upgrade my 12 years old display to MSI MAG274QRF-QD. The colors are amazing and high refresh rate brings so much pleasure to my eyes, but unfortuately there's some blb.

I'm stuying at an University during the days, work on my pc in the evening, and do my assignments at night, so blb is pretty visible to me.

I'd like to ask you for some opinions how good or how bad it is (especially if you have the same model of display), as I'm planning on using it for the next n years. If it's bad I still have some time to return it or RMA it.

I'm attaching photoes of the display with different settings on my phone. The 3 at the end are the closest to what I am seeing.

Sorry for not so good English, but it's not my first language and thank you for your insights and opinions.

If the last three are what you're seeing, that looks about as good as you're going to possibly get, especially at that price point.

Emanating from the corners so that looks more like IPS glow and its incredibly minimal. There is no way you're seeing that with actual content on the screen.

In my experience some level of bleed is inevitable especially with an IPS monitor. If it is really bothering you, you could try returning it and getting a different one but it could be the same or worse.

This monitor is as good as it gets for an IPS display. I've rarely seen one that is that good. Even higher-end ones i had like the LG 28GN950-B were a lot worse.

If someone did not use reason to reach their conclusion in the first place, you cannot use reason to convince them otherwise.
