ChromiumOS developer mode

Hi, I don't know how many people will be able to help me with this, as I'm not sure many people use chromiumOS, but I currently have ChromiumOS downloaded on my old windows laptop. I would like to access developer mode in order to download Linux and Android apps, but, unfortunately, since my computer is older, it has a physical power button (instead of a key on the keyboard), and it's the type that can override the OS and put the laptop into hibernation. So, when I go to press escape+refresh+power, it just goes into power off. When I do escape + refresh + pressing a function that corresponds to where the power button on a chromebook would be, I get nothing. I know there is a way to change keyboard shortcuts, but I don't see any way to change any shortcuts for dev mode. Can anybody help?
