PPTP VPN Service on Windows not working outside network

IgorM

I've followed this tutorial on how to set a VPN server on Windows https://www.howtogeek.com/135996/how-to-create-a-vpn-server-on-your-windows-computer-without-installing-any-software/

and it's working on my internal network but not outside of it, even having forwarded port 1723 on my router and checking it's firewall settings. I've also tried using another external port and having it forward internally to port 1723. What could be the issue?

Try running nmap using this service...https://nmap.online/.  This will check to see if there is the port open or if your ISP is blocking it.  Also, don't use PPTP VPNs.  Wireguard and OpenVPN are far more secure and mature than the dreaded PPTP and L2TP.  Guide here...https://shebangthedolphins.net/vpn_openvpn_windows_server.html

Port 1723 is showing as open. Yeah, I know it's not the most secure thing and it was mostly for tests. It's strange the fact that it's not working but might go for OpenVPN that worked for me on Linux in the past.
