This is my first post and i am planning on building a computer this 2022. Any suggestions ?

Carlosp17

Budget (including currency): 22,000-26,000 MXM (Mexican pesos) -> Around 1100 - 1300 USD

Country: Mexico

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Particularly Software Development, Devops work (docker, spring, use of virtual machines and so on and so forth). I don't specially think i would game a lot on it, but i would love to play RDR2, halo infinite 1080p 60+ fps

Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc):

My intention is to be buying the pieces throughout the year hoping for prices of graphics cards to get a little lower, i don't need the system right now so i can wait.

This will be my first build and i don't want to over complicate the pieces i buy.

The build i have in mind is:

  • AMD Ryzen 5600x
  • MSI MAG B550 TOMAHAWK ATX AM4 Motherboard
  • Corsair Vengeance LPX 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3200 CL16 Memory
  • Samsung 980 500 GB M.2-2280 NVME Solid State Drive
  • Seagate Barracuda Compute 2 TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive
  • NZXT H510 ATX Mid Tower Case (already bought this)
  • CORSAIR RM Series™ RM750 80 PLUS Gold Fully Modular ATX Power Supply
  • Asus GeForce RTX 3060 12 GB TUF GAMING OC Video Card

I want the system to be capable to last for many years so having an upgrade path available is a must.

I would happily receive your comments and recommendations, i'm new in this field

My suggestion:
Don't bother planning until you're ready to build. The market is too volatile right now. Buying piece by piece is not a good idea.
Save up, buy when you have the money. Especially since you can't use the 5600x without a GPU.

2 weeks is enough time for the PC market to dramatically change and make something that makes sense now to be a waste of money the next, let alone a few months. Wait till you're gonna build that system before you come ask for help, especially since you want an upgrade path. Both AMD and Intel are announcing new sockets, Intel just did and AMD has yet to respond. If you want an upgrade path, wait till AMD releases their stuff, they tend to support sockets for ~4 years.

Interesting...
My general idea was to start buying things like the case, storage and psu, which are less likely to change regardless of the build i choose. And from that, save money until i have enough to buy MB, graphics card and CPU at the same time.

As you said, market is crazy right now, a 3060 goes for around 600-800 USD, which is a lot more than i expect to pay for it when i build the pc.

But i've seen pretty reasonable prices on those other pieces.

Thanks for your comment!

Buying piecemeal like that is almost never a good idea. If something comes DOA, you won't know until it's too late and can't return it to the manufacturer.
