It might or might not mean something bad has happened, but you'll only know once it's done.

Was the computer improperly shutdown or anything out of the ordinary?

Not quite sure what that means but doesn't sound bad. Thanks!

If you turned off your PC by unplugging PSU Cable or there was a break in power connection your PC haven't saved the data, so it tries to get it up back

Only thing I can think of is last night I accidentally put it into sleep mode instead of turning it off, then when I tried to turn it fully off it turned back on then I turned it off. Yeah that's probably the problem lol. That loading screen went away and it's working fine so far so 🤷‍♂️

If you're worried, try running 'sfc /scannnow' in cmd, should give you  a basic diagnosis if anything is goofed up or not

That is scandisk repairing your hard drive. I'm pretty sure this can happen if it tried to boot and hit a bad sector on the hard drive and was forced to reboot. It then runs a long repair on the drive before trying to boot again. This process can take a while depending on the size of the drive and whether it is an HDD or SSD.
