Hello All,

Even though I am mainly a PC gamer, recently i dived into the world of console competitive gaming despite having a lot of fun the sessions always turn for the worse when we come across a team who only boot the other team offline to obtain a win on the system. They do this by firstly checking all of the ips which are sending data to their xbox's ip and which ever one is sending the most data they send a multitude of packets back in attempt to boot them offline. Even though I have a pretty good download/upload of 45/9 the opponents are generally from countries such as France and Germany who generally have MUCH faster speeds.

Before anyone suggests not to bother with consoles or something on that lines I am initially wondering if there is anyway of masking my ip or quickly redirecting the DDOS automatically?

Thanks anyways!

Well it's likely a Layer 3 dos and not a Layer 7 so you'll need a VPN setup on your router (if it supports it) as that will act as a reverse proxy and prevent someone from doing reverse DNS to find your actual IP or put a VPN on your laptop or desktop and if you have a wifi card you can connect to the router that way then bridge the lan to in windows.

Maybe HotSpot Shield should make a Xbox and PlayStation version of their application :P

That would be great, although I don't see that happening ;P
