Replace battery or new phone?

Rhyn

I have an iPhone X and recently the battery life has kind of tanked.  The other night I left my house at 90% and was gone for only half an hour and when I got back home it was at 72%, and that type of draining has more or less continued since then.  After checking the battery health it's saying to service and now I'm debating whether or not it is time to upgrade.  Prior to this battery issue the phone did pretty much everything I wanted it to do, texting, email, and things like that with minimal content consumption.

Not married to sticking with iPhones but the only phone that looked worth it to me right now was the 13 mini as any interesting android phones are too expensive.

What do you guys think? Worth putting in a new battery and sticking with the phone for another year or two or just upgrade now?

Also if anyone knows any good deals on new phones I'm in the US on Verizon for a potential upgrade.

iphone x is still a good phone, maybe 100-120$ for a new battery. iphone 13 mini 700$ plus(minus trade in, any relevant deals). iphone 13 is a great phone imo, but if you are looking to save $, and the iphone x does everything you need it to do, and is in good shape otherwise, i would suggest having the battery changed. just my opinion though.

The X is a 4 year old device (somehow - where's the time gone?), but if all you do is simple things like texting, email, and similar like you mentioned then it might be worth replacing the battery and hanging onto it. Apple only charges $69 for a replacement. That's not too bad compared to the price of a new phone.

If the phone does everything you need it to other than have good battery life, replace the battery for $69. You aren’t going to get a phone with a better battery for less.

Alright honestly that's what I was leaning more towards just kind of drawn in by the "oooh shiny" factor of a new phone.  Yea aside from the battery the condition is pretty mint.  Most likely just going to chuck in a new battery and replace the case, had the same one for four years and it is pretty rough now.

So OP had no battery issues to begin with. Good to know

..what? That's not what I said at all.

I said they aren't going to be able to find a phone with a better battery than their current phone for less than $70.

Ikr? Does not feel like it was 4 years ago.  Very true that's fairly affordable probably just going to stick with that.

Very true.  I appreciate that I think I was caught up in the oooh shiny factor of getting a new phone haha.
