Lenovo Workstation SSD Upgrade: Error 1962 No OS Found

Schada

Hey everyone,

I'm working on upgrading a Lenovo workstation from a HDD to a SSD.  I used Macrium Reflect as a free software to copy everything from my HDD to my SSD.  It worked great that day of and a few days afterwards (shutdown after each night).  But now every time I boot the PC I get Error 1962 where it can't find the OS on the SSD.  Looks like next steps are to use Win10 Media Creation in a USB to repair the startup but I can't figure out why this would be happening now?  Even after a few days of shutdowns it can't find the OS anymore.  I haven't changed anything else mechanically or software-wise since I switched to the SSD.  Just regular daily use.  Anyone know why this is happening now?

Thanks,

Adam

It's a cloned OS so really it could be anything, I would use a Windows installer USB and run startup repair as @Mel0nMan suggested, if that doesn't work and if you have Macrium Reflect make a portable version if you don't have one already and boot into it, it should have a Boot Fix option and that can sometimes fix those issues as well. A boot fix is usually necessary after every clone depending on how you do it. If you can't get it to work and still have the original drive try doing a raw copy(sector by sector) and see if that works. Sometimes clones just have issues. It can also be a problem if the HDD you are cloning from is having issues.

If you only did the migration a few days (and you don't have any work you'd lose), just copy the HDD to your SSD again, thus resetting whatever went wrong. Unless you already wiped your HDD?

Edit: I didn't read @SpookyCitrus whole post that also says to do this. So yeah...
