Best ultra wide monitor $400-$600?

Atm, looking at Dell 34 Curved Gaming Monitor – S3422DWG. looking for at least 100 Hz and 1440p. Like this model because it's also HDR 400.

 

Any thoughts?

HDR 400 means pretty much nothing, don't worry about HDR on monitors unless you're willing to spend over $1000. 

 

Hardware Unboxed recently did a "recommended" list, but they only recommend monitors they have personally tested, so the list is far from complete. You could look up what panel the Dell uses, maybe it's the same as one of the monitors that's recommended, then performance would be very similar.

I currently have a Dell s2721dgf, and a new rtx 3080. I was thinking of upgrading to either an ultrawide or a 4k. I do gaming and content viewing on my computer. I was thinking about the gigabyte m32u, but is there an ultrawide that is an upgrade, not a sidegrade?

By looking through review from rtings, it seems to be decent monitor.with slightly better response time than other VA ultrawides like Gigabyte, but it still has that same dark level smearing. If you're after VA ultrawide then Dell S3422DWG is a good choice.
