Meh, 2150 USD original price is BS... heck even with the "massive discount" I wouldn't buy it at 1200 USD considering it only has Intel integrated graphics...

For ~1200$ you can get something like this:

image.png.2c3f4824f61bff1c20bc543043b7193a.png

RTX 3060... and double the SSD capacity.
As for CPU, sure i7-11390H has higher clock speeds and it can outperform Ryzen 5600H in single core stuff... but it also has 4 cores / 8 threads, while Ryzen 5 5600H has 6 cores and 12 threads, so for multi core workloads 5600H will outperform the i7-11390H.
Take a look at Lenovo Legion 5 and Legion 7 series laptops:

https://www.lenovo.com/us/en/c/laptops/legion-laptops/legion-5-series

https://www.lenovo.com/us/en/c/laptops/legion-laptops/legion-7-series

They also have models with Intel CPUs if you'd prefer those, or if you want even more cores you can go with Ryzen 5800H for something like ~70$ more.
Just keep an eye on shipping time, some models can be shipped out in a couple of weeks (like the one above) but for some it takes up to 4 months.

For school btw

If you don't plan to game at all, then sure you can do without a dGPU and just have an iGPU, but in that case price shouldn't go above 800$ IMHO.

EDIT Forgot to address this::

Was looking for a light, portable, yet still powerful machine

In which case go with 15" or 16" Legion models.
As for light and powerful, you have to pick which comes 1st heh.  Also that part is purely subjective, for me 2.5 kg in a backpack is just fine (especially since my old "laptop" was 4 kg)... but for some everything above 1.5 kg might be too heavy.

Ah, didn't see that. Yep for 850 USD, sure. for original price (without discount) 1500 USD hell no.

For US $850, yeah that's pretty darn good. If you do want to game, Iris Xe graphics are fairly decent for integrated graphics, so long as you keep that in mind. Most eSports-type titles will run at 1080p low-medium, while AAA titles will most usually run at 720p.
