RyzenLiquid
Go to solution Solved by Helpful Tech Witch,

First one is a bluetooth driver. Id not disable it

second is a intel Driver, dont disable it.

The next two are For syncing userdata, you might be able to disable them fine

RmSVC is something that seems to let the os talk to the hardware, big no on that

Spooler is for printers, so if you ever need to print anything dont

Sysmain is fine to disbale

WPN is notifications, id not disable it

Wsearch i think in for windows search, id consider it essential

Hi all -  Is this fine/safe change all these to "start=4" so these services won't run in my Windows 11? reported disabling those help avoid some stutter issues and improve performance. Any risk in disable anything from these?

Only disable any of them if you're sure they're currently causing problems on your computer, and then only disable the absolute minimum number of services. If you aren't experiencing problems with those services and want to disable them as a preventative measure, don't. Disabling services is a dangerous game, and in my experience it always causes more problems than it solves.

If you're truly intent on disabling them, you should at least know what each will break.

bthserv breaks Bluetooth.

intelppm breaks CPU power management.

OneSyncSvc(_64dec) breaks syncing between built-in programs, e.g. Mail, Calendar, etc.

RmSvc breaks airplane mode.

Spooler breaks printing.

SysMain breaks RAM caching.

WpnService breaks notifications.

WSearch breaks Windows search.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I dont use these MS programs (outlook etc..) so dont need:

OneSyncSvc(_64dec) breaks syncing between built-in programs, e.g. Mail, Calendar, etc.

Install Windows in a VM and find out. Use snapshots to revert from if something mucks up, or there's something you need to work. Make notes of services to disable and ones not to disable. That's how I did it for my GPU passthrough setup with a Windows VM on top of Linux. Because I wanted to make the VM use the least amount of processes and ram as possible as I wanted the wasted resources for other things. I basically got it down to under 40 processes and 800 MB of ram at idle. But it helps that I was using a Lite mod of 11 with all the crap removed in the iso from Team OS. Instead of using the stock image with over 5 GB of crap, it's down to a 1.6 GB iso. And when installed, Windows is just under 4 GB on the drive. 😁

Seriously, 11 is even more of a bloated mess than 10. It's really not saying much. But Team OS mods make it remotely usable for my VM use cases; which is slim to none.

You're entitled to you opinion. But unless I use a slim mod of 11 and not the stock version, to me, it's a pile of crap.
