You don''t need a Z87 mobo :P H87 will be fine unless you upgrade to a K series later.

Go for a GTX 770 for a GPU it should fit your budget.

If you could so kindly make it a Pcpartpicker.com link it would make it easier to adjust your build.

4670k and a 780 should be your base, then work the rest of the parts to suit your budget. Look at what fast ram would affect (sacrificing something else etc) or a larger storage array etc. I always make a few different lists based on different purposes or strong points, then decide which I would prefer.

The Hyper 212 Evo will give you some OC Headroom, and would mitigate the Bottleneck (just OC the 8350 to around 4.4GHz). This would also run very well on BF4 due to Mantle and AMD Optimization. The System will also run cool due to a custom cooler, which kicks the ass of the reference cooler. The 290X is also faster than the 780.

Note: I didn't add a Case as I have no idea what you/your friend will like.

PC Build

AMD FX 4130@3.8GHz | Sapphire Radeon HD R9 290@947 MHz | 8GB of DDR3 1333MHz RAM | 500GB Seagate HDD | [broken] Cooler Master i600 PSU | Some LG Disk Drive that costed me $20|

Yes you could cram a Titan Black in a 2000$ build, but do you really need it? so I goes with 780Ti, and leave the rest of the money available for monitor and other stuff if you needed.
