I want to change to ryzen so that hopefully in the future i can upgrade to 5000 series when those are in my price range. Graphics card is the least of my worries currently.

Your list is private, but I'm assuming you went with a cheap B450 + 3600? As long as it isn't unnervingly cheap you should be fine.

If you can find a 3300X for a reasonable price, it's actually a fair improvement over the 3100. That motherboard is okay for this level of hardware, but don't expect it to handle much more than a 5600X in the future.
