I just used a few streaming services for the first time in a long long time on my pc and realized that some aren't pushing 1080p to chrome (namely netflix and prime video). Now i'm wondering if I should use the Windows 10 apps instead.

I wanted to get an opinion on what people mostly use for their own set ups.

Windows 10 Edu | Asus ROG Strix X570-F Gaming | Ryzen 9 3950x | 4x 16GB G.Skill Trident Z RGB| ROG Strix GeForce® RTX 2080 SUPER™ Advanced edition | Samsung 980 PRO 500GB + Samsung 970 Evo Plus 2TB + 8TB Seagate Barracuda | EVGA Supernova 650 G2 | Alienware AW3418DW + LG 34uc87c + Dell u3419w | Asus Zephyrus G14

Most people might disagree, but Brave. I use it daily and it blocks ALL ads (YouTube too) without a plugin like Ublock and is built by the man who single-handedly created JavaScript.

If you want something equally secure (without built-in adblock) and NOT Chromium based, I'd say Firefox.

I haven't had an issue with 1080p (when I had Prime).

I honestly just forget the Microsoft store exists and has apps for those kinds of things. My browser is always open so there's very little reason to not just open a new tab for what ever i want to watch.
