Ethernet keep disconnecting any help?

Just like topic, my ethenet kept disconnecting after 10-20 minutes (sometime sooner), it often mention 'default gateway not available' and yes, Windows troubleshooting helps but it always happened again after a while. Any idea what might possibly caused this? Is there any chances that it's a hardware issue? (my router is relatively old at this point and the issue started when I changed my ISP rounter model of which this one is wired to)

Hi,

It might be an issue with the router if it happens are random. However you can try first to download the latest drivers of your network card that you are using in your pc and update this one. If your not sure how to do that use a free tool like Drive Booster that will check your pc for any driver updates and install them. Other potential thing is to check if there any firmware updates for your router and update your router. (usually by default 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1).

If none of that has any impact I would try a reset of your network configurations:

  1. Type in cmd or Command Prompt in the search bar,
  2. From the search results, right-click on it and select Run as administrator,
  3. Enter the following into the Command Prompt window: netsh int ip reset,
  4. Hit Enter and reboot your PC after the command is executed.

Hope that helps.
