Notebook is acting weird

Go to solution Solved by Prof7,

You have to buy another copy of windows and install everything again. There's no chance of you getting your data back.

ehm... yeah. It runs fine atm...

But, there is some unusual stuff happening when restarting my pc. I allready backed a few importand folders.

I probably have to wait for another update to fix all of that.

Hi guys,

I need some help. I today had a windows update. But as impatient as I am, I pressed the power button and it shut down. Then I powered it back on, entered the password and then... nothing on the screen except the Asus Instant On in the right corner. So I restarted my notebook and the same happend. Did this a few times and finally I had a wallpaper, icons and basically everything except sound.

So I restarted it again a few times. No I have it back up, but I'm pretty scared that when I shut it down, I have no screen -again-.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Not turning it off while it's updating is a good starting point.

LOL, being impatient and being stupid are 2 different things. When windows is updating, files are being overwritten, when you shut it off, the files got corrupted.

There are 10 types of people in this world, those who understand binary, and those who don't.
