pc case for evga sr2?

Go to solution Solved by herb,

so i did some searching and i found a company called Mountain Mods. they are a similar company to what Case Labs was but they seem to do a lot more customization and they have a wider range of products.

regardless, they have a selection of cases that have an optional hptx motherboard tray for the sr-2/sr-x. i decided to pick the "pinnacle 24" case with the hptx tray but they have 6 total options for hptx compatible cases.

here is a link to their page: https://www.mountainmods.com/index.php

here is a link to the sr2 tray and supported case list: https://www.mountainmods.com/product_info.php?products_id=567

NOTICE: for anyone in the future who wants to build a pc with the sr2, you do not have to buy the tray separately! some of the cases on the list have the hptx option built in! dont waste your money!

I don't think anyone makes HPTX cases anymore. Maybe try and get a second hand 900D or something?

Oh, maybe a Lian Li PC-A75X? I can see them in stock at a few UK sellers.

no it wont, its hptx which means you need a case with 9 pcie slots in length and a width even more than eatx.

so doe the case need hptx mounting holes? or just a case with 9+ pci slots and eatx?

The sr series needs at least atx mounting holes and a wide chassis with 9 pcie slots. People have put it in multiple cases that do not at all support it but are big enough for it and it's fine.

if it can use some of the atx holes should be easy to drill new holes i would think. if that's the case pc part picker lets you search cases by pci slots then you need to find the width.

It would be far easier to just buy the readily available PC-A75X which will happily house a HPTX board and has all the correct mounting hardware.
