What's my BOTTLENECK??

Hi guys,

I was wondering what would be my bottleneck in this build? I'm playing Battlefield 2042 in 1440p 60hz, all medium settings and some low. I'm getting max 35ish FPS and sometimes dip to 15fps.

I'm thinking it's my CPU but would like to get your feedback. My GPU when I play is going max 30-40ish % usage.

If I look at my CPU usage it's always 100%, so i think I answer my questions my self but want to make sure.

If it's my CPU I would like to get recommendation, I'm willing to change my motherboard and CPU, open to suggestions. My computer components are below.444444

Thanks,

Pretty garb, 5800x usually sells for ~400$ so paying 300$ for a midrange board is a ripoff ah sht, didnt realise it was ca xD

Seems like a fair deal considering 5800x seem to go for ~500 or 600ca

Yep this is most likely your bottleneck, for now just overclock it higher till you can get a replacement, 22nm is similar to 14nm so you can just use intel 14nm spec max volt (1.52v) as a reccomended max safe volt

Stay under 90 or 85c so its stable and not on fire

looks to be a fair price. About 10-15$ cheaper than what it would be if you bought them separately from what I could find on ca.pcpartpicker.com.

219 for the board

498 for CPU.

Need to remember this is Canadian Peso's, not USD. In Canadian, its a fair price according to information on ca.pcpartpicker.com

Any cheap 3200 16gb kit with CL16 would be ideal. I personally love Gskill or Crucial for my memory. Have had some problems with Corsair RAM at times on Ryzen systems for whatever reason, mostly with the LPX variance and seems to be a common issue so I would avoid those if you can.

Should I go 2x8gb? Would it make a big difference if I would go for 2x16gb?

2x8 is plenty for gaming, very very rarely will you ever get close or potentially exceed that under normal user circumstances

Ok good!

The Gskill 16gb kit is 85$ before taxe.

G.SKILL Ripjaws V Series 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 3200MHz CL16 Dual Channel Desktop Memory Kit (F4-3200C16D-16GVKB)

Now i'm wondering, if i will change all those parts it would be better to reinstall windows, so should I go with a NVME SSD instead of my regular Samsung EVO ssd?

I personally would recommend a fresh install as to many times we get posts from people who upgraded and didn't and have conflicts as a result causing random issues that are solved with a fresh install.

That would make sense, I usually do.

Any suggestion for 1tb NVME SSD? I have a port for the PCIe 4.0 so i guess i should find one that supports it?

You can, but its really not necessary. For every day tasks you won't notice any difference really beyond a second or 2 compared to even a sata SSD.

Ok

Do you think a WD Black SN750SE 1TB PCIe Gen4 NVMe M.2 2280 on special at 125$ before taxe would be a good upgrade compared to what I have?

It would be the same price as getting a SATA 6gb/s CRUCIAL MX500 1TB SATA 6Gb/s 2.5".

Both are good drives and have personally used both. If the NVMe m.2 is the same price, then get that. Less hassle with wires and cable management.

Yeah true for that.

The bill would be 1030$ tax in. The screen capture shows 12$ shipping but I would go get it in store.

Ok hopefully with those new parts I will get more than 30fps at medium settings at 1440p 60hz. I mean I think I should if my GPU is at 35% usage

oh absolutely. Here is a great video that Hardware Unboxed released just this morning regarding upwards of 30 GPUs performance at various settings and resolutions. There testing was with a 5950x, so you shouldn't be to far below what they have with the 1070ti for reference. Maybe 5-10% at most.

Oh great thanks! I will definitely what it.

Do you think I will have issue with the motherboard BIOS with the parts I got? Saw some posts about AMD processors, not sure.
