Budget (including currency): $2500-$3000AUD ($1833-2200USD)

Country: Australia

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: ADOBE SUITE, COREL GRAPHICS

Other detailsBudget Does not include Graphics Card but shall be an added expense (Hoping to still use my 2060 for the time being). DUAL MONITOR Setup

Hi, was wanting for some suggestions on building a powerful editing RIG. Mostly do Graphic Design but do the occasional motion graphics and 4K Edit and multicamera Video Stream.
Was hoping to build small but multipurpose.

I was looking at the ASUS S1700 Mini-ITX ROG STRIX Z690-I GAMING WIFI DDR5 Motherboard + Graphics Card (Currently Running with a 2060)
Plan is to use the Thunderbolts for External PCIE Expansions (Streaming Kit Multicamera PCI Cards)
Love for this to be Rackmountable (Half Rack). so the PCI Expansion could also fit beside it.

Unsure of Cooling Power required and if I can still keep to a small form factor.

Are their Benefits to keeping with a big tower? I always bought multi PCI Slot systems but only put a graphics card in or Soundcard (my thought us Thunderbolt PCI has just made this expansion easier IF NEEDED)

Thanks

Best of both worlds with microatx

Since the board only has 1 usb c port you may wanna add another one with a pcie card

That cooler ain't really good. Getting something like Be Quiet Dark Rock 4 will be much better.

For the adobe suite and a build for professional work I'd recommend to go at least with an Intel i7 12th gen, I would even go for the i9. Top tier, top price, but imho worth it - depending on your work, amortized within weeks if not days.

But then there's not much budget left... The i9 is as much a heating unit as a CPU, you'll need a good AIO and a case configuration that works, and I'm not even sure if you can fit 3x120mm with radiator in an ITX case? And if you upgrade to something like a 3080 later, we have to check for card lengths. And I assume that thing will sound like a leaf blower 😛

Also, DDR5 is awfully expensive. You need at least 32GB, preferably 64GB?

What are your storage requirements?

I think if you want to go for the i7 and DDR4, we could make it work. But if you prefer the performance, Micro-ATX is probably the way to go (then again, Micro-ATX with thunderbolt...), for instance with a case like this: https://au.pcpartpicker.com/b/jb7TwP ?

I run everything off a Synology NAS, and for my streaming I a 1TB HDD should be fine.
