ddr3 pc 98se install problem

hey so im trying to install 98se on a new mb that has ddr3....well there was ddr3 512mb ram but it was a prototype so...impossible to get. so how dose one get by this problem? i found this but i dont no if it will help.

 

i got edits and patches once i get to the desktop and usb drivers installed but this dose not help bypassing the 512mb limit...

 

if i cant do it then i guess ill give up on it and only work with ddr2 ram mbs.

Windows98 on more modern hardware can get tricky. 

 

MaxPhysPage=20000 will get you 512MB of RAM. 

I can't remember if 40000 is 1Gb or 256MB. excuse me for that.

Edit: pretty sure 40000 is 1Gb.

but how do i edit it? do i take the drive out and put it in another pc and edit it?

I believe you edit the installation media.

Well yeah, that's one way.

 

But if you can get it running on a system or w/e system it came from working, you can patch it to 4GB.

i dont no i dont get it. ill try editing the fie then remake the iso i guess.

 

i do have a ddr2 P43 mb coming from ebay witch i think the 771 x5470 will work i hope. Gigabyte GA-P43-ES3G

 

also saposbly have an RADEON X850 XT pcie come too...

 

and going try the gtx 8800 gt and moded driver...

 

got the am2 agp mb and my 6800 ultra working thow its not stable....
