Minecraft Entities and Lag?

I have a minecraft tekkit server that is almost un responsive. The cpu usage is high and there is a high entity count. What would be causing this?

No. It's a map that my friends and I have spent a lot of time on.

No, Just me and my friends. Its a creative server as well so no point to having mob spawners.

Well its on my server, but I was connection with my servers IP address and port.

Got in this time but barely loading and keeps reseting my position. Now getting 1-2FPS.

it may be your ram and it is a tekkit server so that may be it too

im going to try running it on my main computer which is much better ( c2q q6600 vs i7 3770k)

yeah that is most likely it, try that but you will need to re port forward your server to your main desktops IPv4 adresses

Well, I think I fixed it. I teleported in console far away and had someone else come in, sudoed them, killed all the mobs around them and works again.

Im not a fan of all these, economic give me your money blah blah servers. Im thinking like a private server with like 6-12 people who are competent.
