Gigabyte 2060 Fan Stops and Noise

NickVR

Hello,

Wondering if anyone has had this issue before.. I have found some complaining about coil whine but this is much worse.

Over the weekend my GPU started making an awful noise, sounded like rubbing almost. I read some people complaining about the fans being loose, so I tightened the 3 screws behind the fan blades, no change.

When on a lower fan curve on afterburner, under 30% or so the fan doesnt even have enough power to spin, it starts up and then makes a horrendous noise and stops again.

When at higher speeds there is a noise that almost sounds like it's hitting something.

When the fans are off I can notice a substance amount of movement in the fan vs. the 2nd gpu fan.

Anyone have any suggestions?

The card is about 1.5 years old.

Seems like a fan bearing that's going bad.

Be sure to QUOTE or TAG me in your reply so I see it!
