800usd for gpus for mining.

BLT_Sharpies

I was thinking that 2 1080s would be the best. I also would like to put the earning back into more gpus. Any ideas?

Would be best to get anything newer and efficient. Gonna be hard to get into with the current market. The time its gonna take you to get 800 back for ROI then invest in more cards, old 10 series cars profitability goes down more and more. If you have a decent pc, could just put 2/3/4 cards in that and invest in some kinda rig later once roi is reached and you have the parts.

Main RIg Corsair Air 540, I7 9900k, ASUS ROG Maximus XI Hero, G.Skill Ripjaws 3600 32GB, 3090FE, EVGA 1000G5, Acer Nitro XZ3 2560 x 1440@240hz

Spare RIg Lian Li O11 AIR MINI, I7 4790K, Asus Maximus VI Extreme, G.Skill Ares 2400 32Gb, EVGA 1080ti, 1080sc 1070sc & 1060 SSC, EVGA 850GA, Acer KG251Q 1920x1080@240hz

3060's and ti's. First gen, unless the dual mining trick is still working for lhr cards.

If i sold my 1080 for say 450, I could get two 3060s. Around how much would i be making? According to nice hash, It would be around 7.80 excluding pc power consumtion. Also would i need to upgrade the psu for the 2 3060s?

Well if thats what it says, its always close as an estimate. Comes down to what you mine and your settings. Then exclude fee's depending on the minor and pool being used and transfer/withdraw fees.

Would my 650 watt psu work for the 2 3060s?

Sure, would be quite close but you should under powering them a bit anyway. Assuming you trust it for 24/7 operation.
