Curveball

Go to solution Solved by Altecice,

and this actually works ?.. some pretty sensitive documents on these that i dont want getting into anyones hands heh

DBAN can do a few methods:

Autonuke  = 1 pass of 0's (quick erase)

DoD Short (3 passes)

DOD 5220.22-M (7 passes) (what FBI/MI6 use)

The Gutmann method (35 passes)   (Takes a very long time!)

---

Up to you as to what method you wish to use but one pass of 0's is more than enough to make any data unrecoverable.

Greetings fellow nerds.

I stumbled into abit of unchartered territory, im selling some of my nas HDD to a friend,

and im wondering how i delete files completely,

so that no one can restore the files..

iknow its not enought just to format it. bt what exactly do i have to do to make the data so no one can retrieve it ?.

sorry for bad english its the middle of the night and im to lazy to spellcheck hehe.
