Can a 320gb hdd work in an xbox one original?

just picked up an xbox one original for a good deal, came with a bad drive. it's going to my brother in law for home media purposes, not too much gaming, so storage size isn't a concern. 500gb hdd 2.5's aren't expensive, but i have a few 320gb 2.5's lying around, and was wondering if they might work as an internal replacement? thanks for any insight.

I cant see why not aslong as the drive is formatted using whatever file system the XBOX uses.

i plan on giving it a shot either way, but i have had issues with xbox's not playing well with certain storage sizes, so i was hoping someone has tried it before.

Give it a bash I'm sure it should be ok aslong as its formatted using the file system whatever it uses.

As long as you soft/hard mod the console it'll work fine (and as long as you get the right adapter to take it from SATA to IDE). I've had a 500GB drive I robbed from a PS3 in my Xbox for about two years now and it's been working just peachy.

 

EDIT: Disregard, brain went autopilot. New answer: It probably will not work, the minimum size for an internal drive is 500GB if I'm not mistaken. After the system side of things is all sorted out, you only end up with ~360GB free on that 500GB drive so you'd have functionally zero space on a 320GB drive.

Shit, I completely ignored the word One. Whenever I see Xbox and Original my brain just autopilots and assumes it's about the OG.  Guess I'll fix that answer real quick.

it happens lol. i won't be finding out for sure if it does or doesn't work. in a stroke of luck i remembered i had an old dead ps4 lying around that i scavenged the 500gb hdd from, quick format and installing the needed software and it's good to go. thanks for the input.
