Tech support needed

Go to solution Solved by Spencerssy1,

Made some calls ended up on customer service. They diagnose a bad board I got a new motherboard of the exact same one PC fired up no problems something was just not right with that motherboard DOA Asus b560-a rog strix motherboard i was very surprised but everything works great now

I have an Asus rog strix b560-a mother board and a 10700k.

Everytime I boot my new system it boots into Bios safe mode then, I tell the motherboard where to boot then, widows boots and works fine.

Asus customer service says it's a corrupted windows but its not booting into windows safe mode its booting into bios safe mode... any ideas?

I have played with.... CMP setting but no change

Reset CMOS no change

New windows installation

There always the possibility of a scuffed windows installation if windows boot manager didn't play well and is struggling to get into it rather than going straight to windows. Most windows installations will skip boot manager if there is only one, but since you reinstalled, you probably have 2. I still have my windows 10 as a boot option even though I upgraded to windows 11, so that entry wasn't removed properly

You will have to go to your bios settings and make sure that your boot priority order, in the first slot says windows boot manager, or the hard drive name partition of which you have your windows installed to. Make sure you save that. It seems like you're just doing a boot override everytime without changing the settings first. If that works good, but if that doesn't. Then you can always try to reset your windows boot manager entries, but that's a bit more complex. I'd also double check to make sure that you aren't holding your bios key upon startup, just to eliminate that possibility.

I have never heard of bios safe mode either but it happens when your motherboard tries to boot 3 times and then goes into BIOS with a message saying "system could not boot due to system instability" but everything is in default settings and once i tell the bios to boot to the m.2 everything works fine

As for boot order i will look into that and play with those settings see if that helps.

Answering the other comments I formatted/ deleted all partitions on the drive before the latest windows install attempt.... I really don't think it's Windows because even with a brand new m.2 and no other storage in the system the motherboard still restarts 3 times then boots into safe mode.... maybe I will completely remove all storage from the system and still see if it crashes three times and then boots to safe mode then I know for sure it has nothing to do with Windows or m.2

Flash to the latest version of your bios if possible.

Disconnect all and any drives except the drive you plan on installing windows to.
