Nvidia 337 Drivers

Hi all,

 

Tin foil hat moment..

 

With rumours that the the 800 series cards will be delayed further do we think that the release of the latest Nvidia drivers that do seem to give a fair real world boost where designed to appease current users who have been waiting to see what the 800 series would bring to the table?

Could Nvidia have released this performance all along but where stalling just to keep pace with what AMD offered?

 

I don't generally pay attention to what performance boosts you get with driver updates, so I am putting on my tin foil hat to quick?

I think they probably had it in the bank. They have been (most likely)  sitting on the GK110 for years and this would fall in line with that pattern for behavior. The GK110 is really just what the Kepler Architecture was designed to be (two comparatively weaker cores that consume less power compared to a single fermi core so power efficiency increases with each core) so it makes a lot of sense they had it from the beginning. Holding back drivers like this also seems like something they would do.

Honestly, I doubt nvidia is going to release anything new anytime soon because AMD has nothing competing (other than in compute which nvidia is killed in).

I'm not appeased with the 337 drivers. I didn't get anything performance increase at all on 760.
