Hello,

I am an inexperienced builder when it comes to customs.

I have sold me MacBook (because dopefish apple) to have funds for a   Windows  Gaming/3D animation workstation.

 I have a budget of $1500

I would like this to be silent as an ice cube melting on water.

and such be a small form factor.

http://pcpartpicker.com/user/MoshThePygmy/saved/4kPM

This is a build i came up with yet i am interested in the peeps who have knowledge of  how well these parts perform with each other.

 Perhaps a silent power supply.

Also i have viewed reviews on the Asus Impact vs MSI z87-I yet i cannot choose. i would love some feedback

Well, although I am not here to issue any comments on you silencing your PC to ice cube decibels, I do want to point out a few things.

Between your Motherboard ($215) and your RAM ($140) you're spending $355. And yet, this is a Gaming/3D Animation PC and you're going with a GTX 760 and only spending $260 on it.

That's quite unbalanced my friend, considering neither of those parts are going to give you any justice as far as gaming goes.

You could drop over $100 off your motherboard and still buy a badass one, and save nearly $40 on RAM with equally great RAM from another company. (Nothing against Corsair - Hell, they are my GoTo RAM brand. But, in this build, this particular method isn't balancing)

The other thing I would think heavily of doing, is saving another $130 and going with an i5-4670K processor, as it'll stack up just fine in gaming and rendering/animating.

That's roughly $280 more you can spend on pretty much the most important part of your build, for the tasks you mentioned that you want to accomplish. That'll take you up to a GTX 770 - or find a way to fit in a GTX 780.

And I do see other adjustments you can make, such as ditching the Kingston SSDNever for a Crucial or something of that caliber.

Your PSU (power supply) is just fine, and isn't loud at all. But if you want deathly quiet, go for a 80+ Gold unit within the same price range.

Seagate mechanical drives can be quite loud. So that along with the GPU fans will most likely be the loudest components in your rig.

The corsair sp 120 fans run pretty much silent at less than 1000rpm, the pump on the h100i shouldn't be heard above fans if working correctly. The PSU fan will rarely even spin (only spins at high loads) so it's silent 99% of the time.

Mostly Character Creation/Modeling framework for logos Heavily workloads in Maya depending on what project requires. Basically an all rounder for any task that is sent in my direction. Waacom tablet is my mouse.

i see seems pretty sold that an i5 and  780 should attend this build. I see this is more an GPU intensive workload.

As for the Mobo i would like the bells and whistles seeing as it is in a itx chasis so no room for expansion. Portability means a lot to me.

I am finding it hard to get a system at this price that does better. Priorities in all the right places and some really good low pricing.

Case: Meatbag, humanoid - APU: Human Brain version 1.53 (stock clock) - Storage: 100TB SND (Squishy Neuron Drive) - PSU: a combined 500W of Mitochondrial cells - Optical Drives: 2 Oculi, with corrective lenses.

The board suggestion above, the MSI Z87I AC Mini ITX LGA1150 Motherboard, will do anything you need it to do really It has all the IO you'd need and as you say yourself you're not going to load up a bunch of cards into an ITX chassis so the lack of slots means very litte As long as it'll hold your GPU and storage drives it's golden

Max out the fans on that prodigy! get a 230mm fan for the front and add go for a dual pack of sp120's on push and AF120 on pull on the rad then replace the to an af 140 on the back!

Then get the Bitfenix recon to control temps.

YES THERE IS ENOUGH ROOM FOR EVERYTHING.
