What does this statement mean - do the monitors support Nvidia G Sync?

There isn't evan a guarantee that G-Sync compatible certified monitors work without any hiccups. (For example Samsung Odyssey series)

 

But all in all FreeSync and G-Sync are 99% interchangeable these days and there are only rare cases where it's doesn't work either way.

From what I understand there's 4 "tiers"

Gsync Ultimate

Gsync

Gsync Compatible

Unofficial/Noncertified Gsync (Everything else; Uncertified/untested by Nvidia; but may be certified/tested inhouse by the monitor-maker.) 

 

So wondering where the monitors I'm looking fall into, especially in the last 1-2 tiers, seem a bit grey area.

And my initial confusion was because the first monitor in OP showed up as GSync-Compatible in:

?

Just trying to make informed decisions with all options before I buy, because at least if a product says "GSync-Compatible" and doesn't work properly I might have better chance at a return.

Depending on where you are from, you should be able to return it either way if it doesn't do what you need it to.

 

G-Sync Ultimate and Native G-Sync is basically guaranteed to work with Nvidia GPUs.

 

G-Sync compatible and non-certified FreeSync monitors still work in 99% of cases. It's very rare that even non-certified monitors have problems or don't work at all.

 

Because of that i basically don't even look out for what VRR tech the monitor is using. In most cases it will just work. While i do have a G-Sync Ultimate monitor now, i didn't specifically shop for it. I took it as a bonus so to say. And i have had plenty of non-certified monitors that worked flawlessly with G-Sync.

You guys might have better consumer protect in EU.

But over here they inspect before refund usually.

 

And in this example if I bought a Non-certified monitor and it was the 1% that don't work with Gsync then I lose.
