Strange issue with Windows 11
5 hours ago, remo233 said:So I turned on secure boot and TCM 2 and I get the message that my system is now compatible with Windows 11. I installed a new drive to install windows 11 and created a usb boot drive using the media creation tool. When installing from the usb drive I get the message that Windows 11 is not compatible with my system. Anyone faced this issue?
You need to boot in UEFI your USB flash drive.
Typically you'll have 2 versions of your USB flash drive:
- < brand name, model >
- UEFI: <brand name, model>
Pick the one that starts (or has somewhere in the name, maybe at the end), the "UEFI" one.
If your new drive was ever used before, it also needs to be formatted as GPT (for UEFI) and not MBR (legacy BIOS).
UEFI can only boot from drives formatted as GPT
BIOS can only boot from drives formatted as MBR
