How to remove all traces of an application?

So I uninstalled a program called Solidworks, by deleting the folder. Big mistake. Now if I try to delete it from control panel I get an error saying it isn't installed, and if I try to reinstall it, I get an error that there is already solidworks installed...

 

Long story short, I am looking for a program that can remove all folders in appdata and temp file locations automatically for a given program. I have a friend who is also having issues with steam, it stops half way during an update and doesn't install. So we both need a solution for this. Are there any reputable programs that can do that?

Can you restore it from there?

I recall using CCleaner in the past for finding those little pieces of programs left behind after a corruption or crash.

Totally agree here, I've had to use CCleaner to remove traces of a program after just deleting the folder instead of uninstalling through the Control Panel/Settings just so I can install it again.
