Bad RAM slot

Go to solution Solved by MihaiGO,

Ok..I fix the problem ,it was from a tiny bend on a pin on the procesor socket, it was a little bit forward and was connected with another pin .

I disassembled the computer for a cleanup but I did not disassemble the ram,
only the processor, and when I assembled everything, and I tried to start all
the fans were spinning but without display, i try to reset cmos by removed the
battery and same problem i try remove the first ram stick and the second slot with
the stick in it running and starting and I try to put only one stick on the first slot,
but without luck I try to clean the slot with alcohol and a soft brush, but it doesn't work,
I now play with only 4 GB in the second slot

specifications:
CPU I5-6500
Ram 2x4 kingstone same specifications as other brands no
gpu gtx 750ti
ssd and hdd
500w psu

Have you tried re-seating the CPU? Because the memory controller is on the CPU, if it isn't properly seated, one of the RAM channels might not work. Also, if you do a CPU reseat, take a look at the pins on the motherboard to make sure none of them are bent. Also, look at the bottom of the CPU and make sure all of the contacts are clean.

That sounds like a dead slot, most likely. If two different CPUs have the same problem, and both sticks work in the other slot, then it almost certainly has to be the motherboard.

Also, whatever you tried to link doesn't seem to have worked.

in the past i have the same problem but after cmos reset ,it was working

Given the information provided, the motherboard is almost certainly the point of failure. I don't know what else it could be.

It isn't an issue with the memory controller on the CPU, since you confirmed the issue also happened with another CPU (unless BOTH had the same memory channel fail, but that's unlikely)

It isn't an issue with the RAM, since each stick works on its own in the working slot.

It isn't a RAM compatability issue, because putting just one stick in the bad slot doesn't boot.

So if reseting CMOS doesn't work anymore, then I'm guessing whatever went wrong with the motherboard has gotten worse over time, and it's now degraded to the point where even a reset won't fix it.
