So I've used various video editing programs to to edit video that were recorded in hdr. I notice when the said video that was hdr is modified and exported, that hdr seems to just not be in the video anymore. Are there any workarounds i could utilize for this? Mass Effect legendary edition without hdr doesn't look good at all.

What programs are you using?

Basically all the pro NLEs support HDR now, like premiere, FCPX, Avid media composer,  and Resolve

What tyoe of hdr are you recording? What output do you want?

I can't afford any of the expensive editing programs atm. I've been trying different open source and free ones such as Openshot and shotcut,  as well as DaVinci resolve. I'm recording hdr with Nvidia shadowplay, mass effect legendary edition. If you're asking what the bit color is I have no idea. Thanks for responding tho. Any help appreciated!

Do the programs you're using support HDR exporting?

I use open source programs because the paid stuff is hella expensive whether u pay outright or monthly. So openshot,  shortcut, davinci resolves, etc

None of those programs support HDR on Windows, that’s the issue. DR supports it on Mac I believe but that’s it.

Resolve does hdr very well. Thats your best option here.

There are a good amount of tutorials on a hdr workflow in resolve.

Where are you using this hdr export? there are many hdr standards.

Resolve doesn't support HDR in Windows.

huh? Source? I have done many HDR exports in resolve in windows.

You’re right, it was added quite some time ago. When I was Googling earlier I came across people complaining about not being able to view HDR in preview without hardware. I didn’t read enough.
