Windows 8.1 Update 1 Start Menu

Did anyone actually get a start menu in the update? I have the other features with the modern ui apps in the taskbar and all but no start menu. No new updates are available. Really annoying...

It's going to be released as another update later. Along with being able to run apps on the desktop.

You can already run "modern" apps on the desktop. I've been doing it (accidentally) today with the PDF reader. I opened it, and it looked like a metro app, but it has the close and minimize buttons on the top right. You can't resize the window, so that may be something they add in later, but you can at least run them.

This update will literally make it like you're running apps on the desktop. Kinda like Firefox or Notepad, or Word.

yea Linus and Luke messed up on the wan show. the start menu will come back in a later update.

You mean let us run apps in windows not in full/half/quarter screen like atm making it more user friendly for us who's using keyboards/mouse
