Wireless Earbuds for a noisy server room.

Hello,

I work in a server room with several devices running their fans on full blast nearby. I'm wanting to upgrade from my crap $20 wireless headphones to either a pair of noise isolating or noise canceling earbuds.

Are active noise cancelation earbuds strong enough to drown out fan noises? Or, should I perhaps just get noise isolation instead?

Spoiler

ANC will work on most anything--provided it is steady.  And there are a few options to choose from.

But I'd actually recommend OTE headphones instead of buds.  Earbuds tend to vary wildly in effectiveness, depending on ear canal, fit, placement, rubber cap size, etc.  OTE headphones can often get a much more reliable and better seal/fit--so unless you have huge glasses templates or something that would prevent them from getting a good seal, I'd recommend OTE over buds.

Either way, Sennheiser PX550ii and Sennheiser Momentum Wireless (any generation) can both be had for ~$150-250.
