What difference would the SSD make, because ive been told that it doesn't change fps/

Once you hit the point where you are out of dedicated RAM, your physical memory sticks - windows starts writing that data to a storage device.  An average hard drive from the time of your system probably does 70-80 megabytes per second, a SATA 3.0 SSD can do 600mb/sec read and write.. that's where the difference is.

can i just get any ssd, or do i have to get specific ones because my pc is old?

Any SATA SSD yes, even if you only have SATA 2.0 on your motherboard, which I'm sure you do.  It will be a noticeable difference.  Also increasing RAM capacity on top of that would be even better.  But upgrading would be much more beneficial.

Look at some reviews/benchmarks, do a little research.  There is a plethora of upgrades from both AMD and Intel, CPU-wise.  Same with GPU.  It really depends on how much $ you want to invest in it.  A newer CPU will require a new motherboard and RAM as well.

2nd, 3rd, or 4th gen core cpus, pref i5 or better (you could just get a 1230 v2-3 if you got an i3 or i5 cause this xeon is basically an i7, v2 is for lga 1155, v3 is for lga 1150)

Only reason to get an older platform than these ones like lga 1156 or lga 1366 is if you get a really good deal, 1156 is only good if you get a board that is capable of overclocking, same goes for 1366

Most of the cpus ive reccomended are pretty voltage tolerant so 1156, 1366, 2nd, 3rd gen will have absolute max vcore of 1.7v (death zone 2v), 4th gen and up seem to have an absolute max vcore of 1.6v, aka dont worry about too much voltage, temp should be your main concern

That is a SATA SSD yes, but I'm not familiar with the brand.  Looks like you're down under?

Yea i am, the company thats selling it is pretty reputable here, but I'm also not too sure about the brand either, I'll do some more research
